Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the process like?
100 tinnitus sufferers tell 100 different stories. Initially I’d like to hear your story and figure out where you are in the process. Based on that, we will look at thought processes and strategies that can be applied to your daily life. Putting together a bespoke “tinnitus tool-kit” will enable you to stand on your own feet and get on with your life. There might be bumps on the road, so you’re always welcome back for reassurance or further guidance.
Who will benefit?
People who have recently developed tinnitus are often feeling anxious and lost. If you’ve seen your GP and done the recommended check-ups with no improvement, further options may seem limited. At this stage you’re likely to need reassurance and hope, and to feel you’re not alone in this.
But there are also many who have had tinnitus for a long time, who are struggling to settle and find direction in life. You might feel a need to take stock, look at your options and find a more positive route ahead.
How long are the consultations/sessions – and how many?
I offer a bespoke service, so the number of sessions will differ, but generally it looks like this:
If you’d like to proceed after the complimentary 30 min talk, I’d recommend 2-4 consultations of 45 min in order to discuss your situation and get an idea of what strategies you might find beneficial. This is followed by a number of 30 min sessions to follow your development. The frequency and number will depend on your needs and wishes.
Some people might just need reassurance and some general guidelines, and for those 1-2 consultations may be sufficient. You decide!
How is it done?
In order to reach out to people everywhere, I offer the consultations/sessions online, which is easy and practical. During the pandemic this model became the norm for a lot of therapeutic work, and for several therapists and mental health workers it’s still the preferred option. You will receive a link from me and all you have to do on the day, is to tap the link and follow the instructions (I will send some further info, if required).
What are the costs?
After the complimentary first talk, a 45 min consultation is priced at £50, and a 30 min session at £40 (admin time remains the same).
First talk is free
